Anglade manufactured the major components for the Ortho-mode Transducers (OMT’s) and other specialized components in the multibeam (19 beam) receiver for the FAST radio telescope. The telescope dish is set in the mountains of Guizhou in China and is the largest telescope in the world at a massive 0.5 kilometer in diameter.
Using our fully integrated 4th axis and a trunnion table (Designed and manufactured by Anglade) and with the assistance of our NX11 CAM system we manufactured the OMT main components with speed and incredible precision which on this large CSIRO project was one of the major contributors to the receiver’s impressive performance. These parts needed to be finished without any marks or dents on face edges as this affects the performance of the OMT. To Anglade’s staff credit they did an absolutely brilliant job of delivering parts in perfect condition.
